PlantStudio(TM) Botanical Illustration Software is a tool for creating 3D plant models and 2D illustrations. PlantStudio simulates herbaceous (non-woody) plants like wildflowers and cut flowers, vegetables, weeds, grasses, and herbs using a parameter-driven simulation of plant growth and structure. You can "grow" plants over their life cycles, producing lifelike images at any age. You can design, animate and breed a wide variety of plants. By using the "evolutionary arts" of variation and selection in the plant breeder, you can quickly and easily create whole families of unique plants for your 3D scenes.
It was originally a desktop application in Delphi released around 1998 by Cynthia F. Kurtz and Paul Fernhout. It is now being converted to run in the browser using JavaScript/TypeScript, Mithril, and Tachyons. You can try a work-in-progress version of it online or check out the GitHub project
The core of the web version works mostly the same as the desktop version with some changes for file handling and navigating between panels. Until we have documentation for the web version, you can peruse the original desktop version documentation.
